It’s time for the next edition of WWE Super ShowDown from the International Arena at The Boulevard in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Let’s take a look at the card for tonight (show starting at 12noon EST and 11am EST for the Kickoff show in the US.) Updates will be coming throughout the afternoon for those not watching and SPOILERS will be in here so stop reading now if you don’t want to know what’s happening.
First, we start with the card for WWE Super ShowDown tonight:
Universal Championship — “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt (c) vs. Goldberg
WWE Championship — Brock Lesnar (c) vs. Ricochet
Raw Tag Team Championship — Seth Rollins & Murphy (c) vs. The Street Profits
SmackDown Tag Team Championship — The New Day (c) vs. The Miz & John Morrison
King Corbin vs. Roman Reigns (Steel cage match)
SmackDown Women’s Championship — Bayley (c) vs. Naomi
Tuwaiq Trophy Gauntlet Match — Rey Mysterio vs. R-Truth vs. AJ Styles vs. Andrade vs. Erick Rowan vs. Bobby Lashley
Mansoor vs. Dolph Ziggler
Humberto Carrillo vs. Angel Garza
The O.C. vs. The Viking Raiders (Kickoff show)
Viking Raiders vs Gallows and Anderson (Kickoff show match)
These guys are super talented and the arena is silent and empty. Lots of people with masks on though, the Corona virus fear is everywhere.
The OC hit MAGIC KILLER! Cover, The OC win!!
Winners: The OC, by pinfall
Tuwaiq Trophy Gauntlet Match -- Rey Mysterio vs. R-Truth vs. AJ Styles vs. Andrade vs. Erick Rowan vs. Bobby Lashley
Match 1 – R-Truth beats Lashley
After the match Lashley takes apart R-Truth in a fit of rage and then Andrade comes down to the ring to start Match 2.
Match 2 – R-Truth beats Andrade
Match 3 – R-Truth beats Erick Rowan (and gets another post-match beatdown)
Match 4 – AJ Styles beats R-Truth after mocking him for 3-5 minutes
Now we’re up to the final 2 combatants, AJ Styles and Rey Mysterio. Rey isn’t coming to the ring even though his music is hitting and AJ is smiling.
AJ is on the mic after they show The OC beating down Rey. He declares himself the winner of the gauntlet. Ref starts a 10 count. Cut back to The OC on the ground beaten and what appears to be The Undertaker walks by.
Moments later, The Undertakers music hits and it is one hell of an intro as always.
UT hits the ring. Chokeslam. Pin. Wins the Gauntlet.
Miz and John Morrison vs. The New Day (c)
Best match of the night so far. Miz and John are over, potentially more than The New Day. Both teams are fantastic and the crowd knows it and are getting into it.
Morrison nails Kofi with a chair and The Miz and John Morrison win the Tag Team titles. First time in 11 years. BRAVO!
Humberto Carrillo vs Angel Garza
These guys can GO. The crowd, like usual, absolutely fucking sucks and if it’s not a marquee moment they’re borderline in a coma. They don’t deserve the quality of this match and two cousins just going at it.
Truly does not matter who wins. These guys are awesome and this crowd didn’t deserve to see them work.
Angel Garza sneaks out the victory over Humberto pinning him down mid-sunset flip.
Seth Rollins and Murphy (c) vs The Street Profits
I thought with Seth Rollins in the match we would get more than golf claps here but nope. Crowd went back to sleep after a short intro pop.
Good overall match. Dawkins dropkick elevation for a big man is just freaking awesome. Just about up there at the high-flyer style dropkick. Tons of respect for that but the crowd is barely reacting for these moments. Shameful.
Rollins and Murphy pick up the win.
Mansoor vs Dolph Ziggler
Ziggler boo’d from the start. Bobby Roode came out with him and sent to the back pretty quickly.
As expected, the crowd will cheer for Monsoor and Dolph will put on a great match to showcase Monsoor.
DZ is great. He’s working the crowd, making Monsoor look fantastic, and now setting up the end of the match. He’s so under-rated it’s insane.
Monsoor wins by brutally bad Moonsault off the top rope crushing DZ with his knees.
Creepy post match “heroic victory” speech. Couldn’t they just pick Sunny up to give him a blowjob in the center of the ring? She’s out of jail now and presumably looking for work. It could have been a win-win feel good moment lol.
Brock Lesnar (c) vs Ricochet
Here we go folks. Ricochet underdog montage video but I would be absolutely stunned if he won here. I’d love it, but I’m just not seeing it happen this close to WrestleMania.
A bunch of Germans and an F5 and Brock Lesnar easily retains his title while totally dismantling Ricochet.
Roman Reigns vs King Corbin
Okay people it’s Steel Cage Match time. They just lowered the cage and King Corbin’s music hits.
Fun Fact: I absolutely LOVE Steel Cage matches. One of my all-time favorite stipulations so I’m hopeful for a great match between these two guys and also hoping the CROWD gets into it.
Here comes the Big Dog Roman Reigns with a chain in his hand. Will the Steel Cage by his yard tonight? Let’s find out.
Decent overall match. Crowd was dead until the final couple of minutes. Finisher was Roman knocking out Baron with a Superman punch with his hand wrapped in a chain.
Roman gets the 1..2..3.. by knockout via steel chain.
Bayley (c) vs Naomi
Shirtless men are cool but women must wear full sleeved attire and put a t-shirt over it. Sure. This is “womens equality” and a moment of growth in Saudi Arabia??? UGH. Okay then, on to the match.
More importantly these ladies can GO so hopefully it will be a decent match and not a throwaway. Bayley apparently has never beaten Naomi, the more ya know!
In the end Bayley gets the win by typing up Naomi’s legs and then the 1..2..3..
The Fiend Bray Wyatt vs Goldberg
Promo montage rolling right now for Fiend vs Goldberg. Considering how bad that Goldberg vs. Undertaker match was. We will see what happens here. It’s time for the main event of WWE Super ShowDown.
If the Undertakers entrance is often remembered for the blue lights and look, The Fiends red themed entrance is absolutely awesome and sets the stage for many years to come.
4 fast spears from Goldberg and The Fiend is unphased.
Jackhammer. 1.2.3 Goldberg won. What the fuck just happened WWE? Wow.
