What could be better than ONE night of WrestleMania?
Now there IS a catch. It’s at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida and will be an empty arena show. It’s also going to be hosted by Gronk, the retired New England Patriots Tight End and potential new WWE talent.
WrestleMania 36 is going to be one-of-a-kind.
Straight from the horses (WWE’s) mouth:
WWE has just announced that WrestleMania 36 will be a two-night event on the WWE Network and former New England Patriots star Rob Gronkowski will be the host. The first night will air live on Saturday, April 4th at 7 pm eastern. The second night will air in on the regular day of Sunday, April 5th.
“In coordination with local partners and government officials, WrestleMania and all related events in Tampa Bay will not take place,” a statement from the organization early Tuesday said.
Wrestlemania 36 is now set to take place at an empty WWE Performance Center because of the coronavirus pandemic.
The event was originally set to be held in front of 70,000 fans at the Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida.
Are you still going to be watching WrestleMania 36 knowing it’s now over 2 nights instead of 1? How about the empty arena?
Personally, I was not a huge fan of the RAW this week of the Smackdown last week held in empty arenas. They were more like old Main Event episodes, just not my thing.
On the other hand, AEW cranked out in comparison a WOOONDERFUL empty arena episode that featured MJF betting on matches, Sammy singing, the Broken Brilliance returning w/ Vanguard-1, and Brodie Lee leading the Dark Order.
I’ll be watching WrestleMania 36 regardless. I’m just not sold on this 2 day thing, or Gronk hosting. He’s ok for 5-10 minutes but hosting a 2 day event might make the world want to kill him. Especially if they drag his BFF Mojo out way too much.
