WrestleMania 36 – Part 2

Here we go people. WrestleMania 36 – Part 2! Exclusively on the WWE Network. You can read my lackluster Part 1 review of WrestleMania 36 here.

After last nights butchery I’m not going to lie. I straight up fell asleep. That has NEVER happened before for me on WM night but this was just more than I can bear. I’m not even sure why they have decided to move forward with this, like it’s for the fans??????

As a fan I can only think about how much this sucked and was so not worth putting the talent and their families at risk over this show.

WrestleMania 36 Part 2 Intro

Gronk coming out in the same outfit from the night before. Drops a couple lines and out comes the Queen.

Charlotte Flair vs Rhea Ripley for the NXT Women’s Championship

These ladies are ripping it up early on to start the show. A lot of going back and forth featuring Charlotte working on Rhea’s left leg pretty religiously. Setting up that Figure 8.

5-10min later they’re still going at it, full force, back and forth. I’m not going to hold back. This may be the best work I’ve seen between last night and this being match 1 for tonight.

Winner and NEW NXT Women’s Champion by Figure 8: Charlotte Flair

Aleister Black vs Bobby Lashley

To be honest I don’t even know the build-up or reason behind this match. Did Bobby answer on of Blacks brooding basement sessions looking for a fight? Who knows. Not me. I like both of these guys though so I’m open to see where this will go.

Hard hitting match finding Aleister Black with the win and Bobby Lashley stunned.

Dolph Ziggler vs Otis

This should be a good one. Lots of actual buildup, months in the making.

Okay this match is kind of a letdown. Not to the fault of either competitor. Otis is a huge “hulk up” kind of character that uses the crowd for positivity and energy so when he’s doing some of his schtick to an empty arena it seems hollow, and incredibly lame.

Mandy Rose comes down to the ring, takes out Sonia, then Ziggler in the nuts, Otis with the 1.2.3

Winner of the night: Otis with a smooch from Mandy Rose in his arms.

Edge vs. Randy Orton – Last Man Standing

Randy sneaks in as a cameraman and nails Edge with an RKO to start off the match. Then another RKO. Edge outside and nailed with a camera. Randy taking that early control.

They’re in the back now beating the hell out of each other in the weight room. Into a conference room. They are demolishing each other. These guys are proving you CAN do something special in an empty arena.

Another 5-10 minutes later and I’m just glued to my TV. They’re fucking awesome. Edge is grabbing a ladder I gotta go. OMG that was sick. Edge is a maniac.

Add in another 5 min and they’re been crushing each other. BEST MATCH OF BOTH NIGHTS SO FAR. No shit man. These guys are fucking kings of pro wrestling. They’re doing this for the love of pro wrestling and nothing else. Just to work this hard together show how much love and respect these guys truly have for one another. Tons of trust needed for this match to go down the way it has so far.

And it’s still going on.

Orton about to crush Edges skull and he pops up with that same submission choke he used on MVP. Orton looks to be out. The count is on. Edge stops the count. Grabs a chair. Conchairto! 10 count Randy is toast.

Edge is the Last Man Standing

Mojo comes out with people in chase and his 24/7 title. Melee occurs and they pan to Gronk up in the muppet tower and he climbs over the edge and plunges onto the crowd.

Gronk then covers Mojo for the 1..2..3.. and NEW 2/47 Champion… Gronk.

Austin Theory and Angel Garza vs Street Profits (c) for the RAW Tag Team Titles

Here we go. Street Profits gonna bring the smoke.

Street Profits retained the title rather easily.

Sasha Banks vs Lacey Evans vs Tamina vs Naomi vs Bayley(c) Fatal 5-Way Elimination Match

Okay here we go. Let’s see how this goes. Could be good, could be a train wreck. So far WrestleMania 36 Part 2 has been ok. Far better than part 1 last night.

I’d love to see Tamina wreck everyone, it won’t happen this strong start will be her time to shine and likely first pin but here’s to hoping. They worked on her for 5+ minutes, she took 100 team shots, and finally all 4 pinned her at once. Tamina has been eliminated.

Naomi has been eliminated.

Sasha and Bayley taunting Lacey, telling her that her kid is watching, etc.. Standard heel drama.

Sasha and Bayley have drama and Lacey pins Sasha after a Woman’s Right. We’re down to Bayley and Lacey. Let’s go Lacey!

Lacey basically had it but Sasha Banks came back to the ring to help her longtime friend retain the Smackdown Women’s title. Bayley wins.

John Cena vs The Fiend in a Funhouse Match

Let the fun begin!

This is like the Undertaker vs AJ Styles match from last night, only better. Much better. The psychological story being told here is fantastic. The VKM puppet is fucking amazing.

“This is such good shit.” – VKM Puppet 2020

That was the craziest thing I’ve ever seen. Right up there with Broken Matt’s brilliance. Who the hell wrote that Boneyard match? Because whomever that was, needs to take a lesson from who wrote this. I can’t believe at all, not one iota, it was the same person.

The Fiend wins by bizarreness.

Drew McIntyre vs Brock Lesnar (c) for the WWE Championship Title

Here we go. The Main Event of WrestleMania 36. The grand-daddy of them all.

Brock hits a bunch of F5’s and fails to get the pin on Drew.

4 Claymores and Brock is DONE. Short match.

Drew is the NEW WWE Champion!
